First, the bad news. All of us have sinned. Because God is holy, righteous, and perfect, His standards require perfection. Never has a man or woman lived a perfect life. Only Jesus Christ accomplished that. That puts us in a bad spot. We are all sinners (Romans 3:23). The penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23a). We're headed for final judgment, destined for wrath, and eternal punishment in a place called hell.

The good news is that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus (Romans 6:23b). He paid the penalty for all of our sins. We can't earn it. It's a free gift (Ephesians 2:8-9). If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved (Romans 10:9-10).

Don't wait! We have no guarantee of tomorrow. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Romans 10:13). Confess your sins and call out to Jesus to forgive you. Today can be the day you receive salvation and begin a new life of surrender and obedience to God.
